Here are a few things about me …
Before journalism, I was a linguist and translator. I speak Arabic, Spanish and Italian quite well, and German and Portuguese less well.
In my spare time I’m a keen choral singer with Voce Chamber Choir, and once upon a time I headlined Glastonbury with the Rolling Stones.
I’ve lived, studied and worked around the world. I’m originally from a village outside Manchester, have lived in the megalopolis of Cairo, and currently live in London.
